Here you will find information you might want to take into account.
Clay and Glue
Cold Porcelain is an organic kind of clay, made from white glue and corn starch. For this reason it shouldn't be exposed to water for long periods of time. Please remove the jewellery before showering or swimming to make sure it doesn't get damaged.
Also, please treat it gently. It is made of solid materials but might break or dismantle if treated roughly, so try not to sleep with your items on.
Keep items in a dry and safe place, as they're not suitable for small children.
Cold Porcelain Stud Earrings
"Organic clay" means bacteria may grow if it gets moist for long periods of time. This means that you can wear your earrings for many hours, but it might be better not to wear them 24/7, as skin secrets oils and dead skin may accumulate. Please, don't wear these studs if your ears aren't 100% healed.
Cleaning Cold Porcelain
After heavy use, some items might get slightly dirty. Please follow the instructions in order to clean them:
- Wet the surface with a small cloth or q-tip. You will have to "melt" the outer layer of clay in order to remove it.
- Rub it gently but thoroughly with your cloth or q-tip (or your finger, for that matter) in order to loosen the outer layer of clay until it's clean. Make sure it's wet enough to loosen the clay, but not too much as to make a mess. DON'T submerge the item in water or any other solution.
- Once it's clean, dry the clay with tissue paper making sure no particles get stuck to the clay. Try to avoid cloth at this step.
- Wait till your item dries (with the air) or dry it under the sunlight. DON'T bake it or leave it near a heater or stove, otherwise it might burn.
Metal Parts
The metal parts used to make the jewelery are not hypo-allergenic, so they might not be suitable for allergic skins.
More information by product type:
- Handmade Items
All of the items in this site are not made industrially, they're ALL handmade. For this reason, there might be slight differences between replicas of the same item.
- Cellphone Straps
All straps come with a little bell and a secondary charm. These secondary charms are randomly chosen (whatever is available and might look good with your primary charm) UNLESS you leave a comment with your order stating what you want (shape and colour).
Secondary charms can be either: a little strawberry (red or pink), a little strawberry dipped in chocolate, a little blueberry, a little cherry, a pair of bananas, "For You" candy (any colour), a little wafer (chocolate, strawberry or regular), a little round cookie (one out of three different models in chocolate, vanilla or strawberry colors) OR a little square cookie (one out of three different models in chocolate, vanilla or strawberry colors).
Most straps are black, but if you order a pink item, you might receive a pink strap.
- Rings
All ring bases are adjustable, so there's no need to worry about ring sizes. Also, they might be nickel free or not, so I can't guarantee they won't cause allergies.
- Earrings
From what I've heard, hook earrings are NOT nickel-free, so they might not be suitable for allergic people.
- Necklaces
The chains that come with the charms may differ from the ones in the pictures. This is because, in order to keep necklaces as inexpensive as possible, chains are bought in bulk from different providers.
Just like other metal parts, chains are NOT nickel-free and might not be suitable for those with allergies.
