About Ai Candies

What is Ai Candies?
Ai Candies is the name chosen by Antares to brand and define her collection of hand-made sweets-themed products. As you might deduce, all of the items are made with tons of love and are of Japanese inspiration ("ai" meaning "love" in Japanese). Also, as the jewelery is made of clay, none if the sweets are edible, making them "eye candies".


Where is it located?
The store is located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Though I would avoid calling it a "store" since it´s a web-based micro-business-thingie run from both Antares' home. Occasionally, Antares runs small booths in conventions and fairs.


Who runs Ai Candies, who's this "Antares"?
That would be me, writing this whole site and making all the accessories in it.
Born in 1981 in Buenos Aires, Antares is the name I've been using approximately since 1998. These last 10+ years I've been a comic-book store clerk, college student, arts teacher (for 6 years!), forum moderator (as a paid job, mind you), graphic designer, housewife, mother, and since September 2008 a jewelery designer.
It all started as a hobby to relief stress and ended up as this web store.
As you can see by looking at the catalogue, I make little hats too. My current side-projects involve learning how to make full-size hats.
